It’s time to tune in: 5 budget-friendly wireless earbuds

No wires, no noise, just you and your world of audio. Yes, we’re talking about the one thing none of us can do without if we’re to function in this digital era. Of course, we’re talking about earbuds. In fact, I’m wearing a pair right now as I type this article. With their sound quality, comfort, and features improving with every passing day, it’s no surprise to see most people upgrading to wireless earbuds. The best part, you ask? It's how affordable they are.

Here’s a list of our favourite five.

JBL Tune 130 NC

jbl

When it comes to a brand that never fails to impress you with its sound quality, JBL surely tops that list. If you’re looking for something priced below INR 5,000, you’d struggle to find something better than the JBL Tune 130 NC. Along with the sound that is pitch perfect due to there being no distortion even at 100 per cent volume, it has a battery life of 10 hours (40 hours with the case). Not only does it support voice assistants such as Alexa and Google Voice Assistant, but it also comes with a dual connect feature that enables users to connect to two devices simultaneously.

OnePlus Buds Z2

one plus

Here’s another excellent option if you’re looking for something affordable and absolute value for money. You get more than decent sound, good battery life and a comfortable fit. It can last up to 38 hours on a single charge and is equipped with the Warp Charge technology that can provide five hours of music playback with just 10 minutes of charging. With OnePlus always on the lookout to roll out its new and improved products, it’s no surprise to see these earbuds sound so much better than the higher-priced original OnePlus Buds. While several features are only available on a recent OnePlus phone, the OnePlus Buds Z2 is a great option even if you use a different brand or older models.

Realme Buds Air 3 Neo

Earbuds don’t get any better than this if your budget is less than INR 2,000. The sound quality is good with users having the option of using boost bass (an absolute delight for hip-hop and EDM lovers). A word of caution—avoid using them on max sound. While there is no ANC present here, the AI noise cancellation is a great substitute. The same can be said for how you charge it—with no wireless charging possible, using a Type-C cable gives one to two hours of playback with just 10 minutes of charging. The buds are extremely comfortable to wear for long hours due to their lightweight build.

Boat Airdrops 431

The case comes with a 500mAh battery which offers up to 10 hours of battery life including a three times refill via the case. Boult Audio AirBass Z1

Here’s a set of earbuds that’s bang for your buck, comfortable (say goodbye to ear fatigue), and super easy to carry (rated IPX5 for water resistance). Available in two colour options—grey and green—the Boult Audio AirBass Z1 edition comes in a compact dual-tone box, which fits nicely in your hand. It’s got a very impressive battery life—40mins on a 5-10 min charge, six hours on a single charge plus the charging case gives extra 18 hours.
