Bathtub sex positions that don’t create a splash

You don’t need a place to have sex, what you need is the intent and the consent. This is why there is so much more to the hanky panky than getting down and dirty in the bedroom. Be it on the kitchen platform, in the car, or in the shower, the places and positions to explore are endless. But when it comes to steamy sex fantasies, a bathtub is a definite frontrunner. So if you have a private tub or Jacuzzi all to yourself, here are a few steamy positions to indulge in some hot and passionate lovemaking.

Doggystyle: If this is one of your favourite positions, a tub is one of the best places to spice things up. That said, a little bit of caution is necessary. Use a mat that would relieve your knees of the stress, ensure that the person with a vagina has her genitals out of the splash zone, and ensure that you start slow, working your way to a rhythm. This position, when performed in a bathtub, also presents the penetrating partner with the opportunity to tease and touch the receiver’s neck, ears, clitoris, and breasts.

The Lotus position: In this position, the penetrating partner sits down with their legs straight while the receiver sits on their lap and wraps their legs around them. This position allows for deep penetration with very little movement and water being splashed.

Going down a slippery slope: Sex is all about intimacy and here’s a position that’s intimate AF because it gives you the chance to cuddle and give your partner an orgasm at the same time. One partner sits with their back to the tub while the other lies down on them with their back on their chest. This position gives both partners to reach around and fondle each other. Furthermore, one can also use their fingers or a waterproof vibrator to make themselves or their partner receive an orgasm.

Deep dive: It’s a great position to try out in a bathtub, provided there isn’t too much water in it. The receiver lies back on a towel and drapes their legs over their partner’s shoulders. If you want to go in deep and see them stimulate your G-spot, then this is one of the best positions to try out.

The rubber ducky: One partner sits at the edge of the tub while the receiving partner kneels with their legs on either side of them. Such a position gives the penetrating partner the power to control the intensity and how deep they want to go as well as them getting a fine view of your back, hips, and butt.

Some handy tips:

Make use of the entire tub: The sides of the tub are tailor-made for oral sex. One partner has their legs spread wide while the other sits inside the tub and goes down on them. You can switch things up by taking turns to go down on each other.

Warm water for a hotter experience: Don’t just keep the sex hot, do so for the water as well as warm water will keep the blood flowing to your genitals. It’ll also take more time to cool down (compared to cold water) which will see you enjoy the tub session for longer.

As far as the water level is concerned, sex in a tub is not the time when you fill it to the top. With you and your partner moving in all kinds of directions, keep the level lower than you would for a regular bath.

Use lube, lots of it: Water washes away your natural lubricant which means that sex in a tub could be dry and uncomfortable. This is where lube, a silicone one to be precise, comes to the rescue as it makes things more comfortable and sexy. So grab some and apply it to both of your nether regions before you get into the tub.

Use some soap: Sex doesn’t have to include penetration to be intimate. Take some soap and use the lather and foam to run your hands all over them through some touching and massaging. For some, this even feels better than the actual act.
