This August, while the rain gods bless you with downpours, the OTT giants decided to shower new shows galore for you to binge away. Some of the most- awaited shows of the year have released this month and we'd be surprised if you don't have them queued up on your watchlist already. Don’t believe us? The list includes the second season of Made in Heaven; a series that stars a fabulous cast including Rajkummar Rao, Dulquer Salmaan, and Adarsh Gourav, among others; Sushmita Sen returns to the OTT space and more. 

CHOONA

An unlikely group of six join hands to take down a common enemy—an all-powerful corrupt politician who has wronged them. Motivated by revenge, they come up with an audacious plan to execute a heist and get back at the politician. While they share no commonalities with each other, their hate for the common enemy unites them. The series features an august cast of Jimmy Shergill, Aashim Gulati, Vikram Kochhar, Chandan Roy, Namit Das, Gyanendra Tripathi, Atul Srivastava, Monika Panwar, and Niharika Lyra Dutt.

Dayaa is a gripping tale of a simple freezer van driver, who finds his world turned upside down when he stumbles upon a dead body in his vehicle. The discovery thrusts him and his loyal friend into a whirlwind of escalating peril. With each twist of fate, they become further entangled in a web of danger, and are not sure who they should trust. As the mysteries deepen, the protagonist must navigate a treacherous path, confronting his fears and grappling with unforeseen consequences. Featuring acclaimed actor JD Chakravarthy in the lead role, the Telugu series also stars Ramya Nambeesan and Eesha Rebba in pivotal roles.

MADE IN HEAVEN: SEASON 2

The second season of this Emmy-nominated series, just a day into its release, has garnered many eyeballs and has taken the internet by storm. Starring Sobhita Dhulipala and Arjun Mathur in lead roles, the series will also see brilliant character portrayals by Jim Sarbh, Kalki Koechlin, Shashank Arora, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Vijay Raaz, Mona Singh, Ishwak Singh, and Trinetra Haldar. The show, with episodes directed by Alankrita Shrivastava, Neeraj Ghaywan, Nitya Mehra, Reema Kagti, and Zoya Akhtar, will beautifully reveal the dichotomy of tradition, modern aspirations, and belief systems set against the canvas of lavish Indian weddings.

Directed by Ravi Jadhav, the series based on transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant, will star Sushmita Sen in the titular role, and will be released on Independence Day. The offering will shed light on her daring transformation, her incredible motherhood, and the iconic battle that led to the inclusion of third gender in every official document in India. Taali promises to be a remarkable tale of courage and advocacy.

Directed by Raj & DK, the show, that’s set in the fictitious town of Gulaabganj and pays a fitting tribute to '90s Bollywood, brings together a mechanic, a cartel heir, an honest police officer, and a contract with a trio of schoolmates who exude the innocence that comes with growing up in a small town. It promises to be an entertaining watch as we see their worlds collide in this mashup pulp, gangster-comedy. The series features the likes of Rajkummar Rao, Dulquer Salmaan, Adarsh Gourav, TJ Bhanu, and Gulshan Devaiah.
