Yes, Tontouring (Contouring With Self-Tanner) Is a Thing

Now you can actually say, "I woke up like this" and mean it.

You already learned how to contour your body with self-tanner, but did you know you could sculpt your face the same way?

Coined by FEMAIL and demonstrated to The Daily Mail by Cocoa Brown founder Marissa Carter, tontouring (aka defining your facial features with self-tanner) actually works and is a good method to incorporate into your beauty regimen because it lasts for a few days. Here, Cosmopolitan.com staffer Heeseung Kim shows you how it's done. (Note: you might want to do this on a weekend day, so you're set for the week and, just in case you mess up, you'll have time to fix it before work or school on Monday.)

1. Apply a gradual face self-tanner all over your face, neck, and onto your chest. This gives the skin a subtle sun-kissed glow and a base to work off of, so the contrasting darker self-tanner you're about to apply won't look as harsh against your skin. Heeseung used Jergens Natural Glow Face Daily Moisturizer Sunscreen in "Light/Medium."

2. Buff a darker self-tanner onto your forehead. With a stippling brush (the tightly packed, short-tipped brush that's commonly used for blending), apply your darker shade of gradual self-tanner to your forehead near your hairline. Heeseung used James Read Liquid Bronzer, which allows you to see where you're putting it on your face, thanks to its dark formula, but then turns into a gradual tan.

3. Contour your cheekbones. Using a flat-tipped, tightly packed contouring brush, apply a swipe of the same dark self-tanner directly under your cheekbones (you can suck your cheeks in to find exactly where to put it).

4. Blend it in quickly with your fingertips so that it doesn't set in a streak formation.

5. Turn your face to the side while looking into a mirror to make sure you're satisfied with how your contour looks. If you make any mistakes or need to erase any of the self-tanner, have mixture of lemon juice and baking soda at the ready, or go out and pick up the Bronze Buffer Self-Tan Remover Sponge, which helps remove self-tanner easily.

6. Finish by contouring the sides and tip of your nose. Blend in those areas and you're done!

Finally, wait for the gradual tanners to develop over the next couple of hours and flaunt your faux glow and gorgeously contoured face everywhere.
