Anand Ahuja Opened Up About How He Fell In Love With Sonam Kapoor

Businessman and a newly-wed, Anand Ahuja is celebrating his birthday with the launch of his new store in Mumbai, which is a big milestone for him and his two brands, Bhane and Pure Veg Non-Veg.

In conversation with Mid-Day at the launch, Anand opened up about his life and how it has taken a turn ever since he met his wife, Sonam Kapoor. Speaking about how many people dread the idea of a long-distance relationship today, Anand confessed that his ideology of marriage is the same, irrespective of the distance.

 

"When it comes to marriage, small things matter a lot. We eat meals together, even if we are in different time zones, on Skype. We also actively make sure that we don't go over two weeks without seeing each other," he said. There's a tip that could really save a falling out! Not only that, Anand also explained how his relationship too, especially when it all started, was very simple and old-school for that matter. 

"We would talk over the phone. It was seven weeks before we actually met. By then, we knew we were in love, but met in person to solidify it. At the end of the day, it's about being patient." So really, distance doesn't necessarily have to mean that a relationship is over, or hard to handle. Plus, if a guy is as head over heels in love with you (like Ahuja, who credits all his success and good-sense to Sonam!), it really should be a piece of cake. 

"I got clarity on the label after I met Sonam. She is decisive and I am the exact opposite. She intuitively knows what's good for me. She has brought a lot of clarity to my life. This store reflects a personality thanks to her. We wanted to create a plaza — there is a coffee shop and a cupcake store. We wanted to create a niche brand with a unique story behind it. We are launching a new line in September."

Sonam Kapoor and her fam posted many pictures on the 'gram from Anand's birthday celebrations. From a custom basket-ball cake (ICYMI, Anand is a basketball aficionado) to a giant shoe (he is a sneaker-head) made of flowers, Anand was lovingly pampered on his day.
