It's been nearly four years since we last saw Rue (Zendaya) and the rest of the Euphoria group on our screens, but now it has finally been confirmed when the show is returning for season three in 2026 and we've got all the details you need to know about the new season.

Euphoria began in 2019 as a series about a group of high schoolers in the fictional town of East Highland in California and their struggles with drugs, alcohol, body image, family, love and relationships.

The last series was released in January 2022, so it's safe to say we've been waiting a long time for this. And after years of waiting the series will now be set five years on from where we last saw the characters. So what has the future held for Rue, Cassie, Maddy, Nate and Lexi? Here's everything we know so far about season three.

Also not returning are Storm Reid, who played Rue's younger sister Gia. Barbie Ferrera who played Kat in the first two series announced she was departing from the show after the second season aired. Algee Smith who played Chris and Austin Abrams who played Ethan are also not returning for the next season.

What is going to happen in Euphoria season 3?

Following the announcement of the release date, the series creator Sam Levinson gave some major details about all the plots of the upcoming season.

The show will be set five years on from where we last saw the characters in 2022, when they were still in high school and a lot has changed for these characters.

Rue will be south of the border in Mexico and is in debt to Laurie and trying to come up with ways to pay off that debt.

Cassie and Nate are now engaged and living in the suburbs. Cassie is going to be addicted to social media and keeping up with what her former classmates are up to. Sam Levinson also confirmed we will see Cassie and Nate get married and that it will be "an unforgettable night.”

Elsewhere Jules will be in art school, Maddy will be working for a talent agency in Hollywood and Lexi is an assistant to a showrunner, who will be played by Sharon Stone.

Levinson said the series is the "best" yet and now we're counting down the days until it lands on our screens.
