Things You Need to Know Before Dating a Gemini

If your bae was born between May 21 and June 20, they're a Gemini, an air sign that's easy to find ~stimulating~ — intellectually and otherwise. Here are 10 things that make dating a Gemini all sorts of entertaining, no matter what sign you are.

1. They're talkative. Ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication, Geminis are super-chatty. They have a lot of opinions, thoughts, and ideas, and their default is to be sharing them — either out loud or by emailing, snapping, tweeting, etc. It can feel like they're talking at you versus to you. But at least you won't have to constantly be like, "So, what are you thinking?"

2. They enjoy switching things up in bed. Whether you enjoy experimenting with new sex toys on occasion or flirting with exhibitionism from time to time, you'll love being with a Gemini. They adore — OK, more like crave — variety and thus, are less likely to get stuck in a sex rut.

3. Your social calendar is about to fill up. Their communicative, social nature also means they probably have a big, diverse group of friends, so there will be constant party invites. You won't even miss Netflix and chilling when your Gemini's many connections are getting you into the hottest club and hanging with their cool crew.

4. Spontaneity rules their lives. Don't be surprised if all week, you were expecting to go see a DNCE concert, but on Saturday at 6 p.m., your Gemini wants to go to the movies instead. Their impulsive energy may be enough to make your head spin — or keep things exciting.

5. They are innately flirtatious. They're masterful at stringing words together in a way that will make your heart flutter. And once your relationship status is definitively more than friends, let's put it this way: If you have never sexted before, you're going to want to start once you're with a Gemini.

6. They know what they like. Geminis tend to be very specific about everything – from the kinds of clothes they'll wear to the way they prefer their many books be arranged on a shelf. So, if they're into you, you can rest assured you meet their exacting standards!

7. They know how to pull themselves together and usually look ~*flawless*~ as a result. It's no surprise that Geminis Ashley and Michelle Olsen and Kanye West seamlessly hopped from entertainment to fashion. The sign's known for being naturally creative, artistic, and fashion-forward. So, you won't have to worry that your Gemini is just going to fall out of bed and put on some baggy pants and take their greasy hair, ew, and cover it up with a backwards cap, and like, expect you to swoon — to paraphrase one Cher Horowitz.

8. They're very analytical. Not only are their mouths going a mile a minute, but their brains are too. They're frequently plotting their next move to turn you on or composing a text they know will make you smile in the middle of your day. But this also means they have a tendency to overanalyze things and end up feeling overwrought. The fix: Divert their attention to a new topic they'll have a variety of thoughts and opinions on (Game of Thrones! That new place with the kale chia smoothies! Whatever!), and they'll get on a whole new track.

9. They need space to do their own thing. Whether it's playing a video game or hanging out with a group of old classmates, Geminis — like their fellow air signs Libra and Aquarius — want to feel like they can maintain their independence in a relationship and easily breeze from one whim to the next. So, if you want a partner who's cool with doing his or her own thing while you do yours, you'll be seriously compatible.

10. They're imaginative and curious. So, like, they have no problem researching the beach getaway you plan to go on together, making sure the experience is equal parts intellectually stimulating (they have a checklist of must-see museums...) and romantic (...and have identified all the best makeout spots).
